In the late 1840’s Henry Christy returned from Turkey with a sample of a loop pile fabric. The Christy family invented a loom to mechanically reproduce the cloth and held the original patent for terry towelling worldwide – the rest is as they say history! Cotton Council International (CCI) was founded in 1956 to market and promote U.S. cotton, cotton seed, and cotton products worldwide. CCI manages the marketing and licensing programme for COTTON USA. |
